"Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood." These are the words that Einstein spoke to describe Mahatma Gandhi.

"Mahatma" in Hindi means the "great soul". This title given to Gandhi during his lifetime, is a testament to the deep influence his life and ideas had on the entire world. Gandhi created the concept of "Satyagraha", literally meaning "insistence on truth" and made it the fundamental value of his life.

Inspired by such early environmentalists as Thoreau and Emerson, Gandhi imbibed values of conservation and everything he did and gave to the world a lasting philosophy of sustainability. "Gandhi felt that there couldn't be any ecological movement designed to prevent violence against nature unless the principle of non-violence becomes central to the ethos of human culture." Gandhi personified the change that he wanted to see in the world.

We are proud to celebrate the legacy and ecological values of this Mahatma and to share his message with the world.
